Doug Jones is a leading international commercial arbitrator and internationally recognised infrastructure and dispute resolution lawyer. Doug has experience in both ad hoc and institutional commercial arbitrations under the world’s leading arbitral institutions. He sits regularly as an arbitrator in London, as well as many other jurisdictions. He has acted as counsel and mediator in numerous ADR procedures in major disputes. He uses a flexible approach as the key to success in ADR procedures. He has been involved in arbitrations in the fields of infrastructure, energy, commodities, intellectual property, commercial and joint venture disputes. Doug has published and spoken extensively and holds professorial appointments at two Australian universities. He has an office in Sydney, Australia, where he is a partner with the firm Clayton Utz, and chambers in London, UK and Toronto, Canada. He has been a leading advocate for Australia and the Australian legal profession in the field of commercial arbitration both international and domestic, and has been recognised on many occasions as one of the leading figures in the Australian legal profession and arbitration community. He was made Officer of the Order of Australia in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List in June 2012. At the 2014 Annual Lawyers Weekly Law Awards Doug received the Michael Kirby Lifetime Achievement Award.
