Malcolm Holmes QC, BA, LLB (Syd), BCL (Oxon), CArb, is a Chartered Arbitrator at Eleven Wentworth in Sydney and is an arbitrator member of Twenty Essex Street in London and Singapore. He is an experienced international arbitrator and mediator with a particular interest in commercial, maritime, construction, energy and sporting disputes.
He is a Director and Fellow of Australian Centre of International Commercial Arbitration and a member of several panels of arbitrators maintained by international arbitration institutions including the Singapore Chamber of Maritime Arbitration (SCMA), International Centre for Dispute Resolution, the international division of the American Arbitration Association (ICDR/AAA), Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), Asian International Arbitration Centre in Kuala Lumpur (AIAC) and the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC).
He has been a member of the Court of Arbitration of Sport (CAS) since 1995. He is a Past President of the Australian Branch of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators and was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute from 2009 to 2017 and the Treasurer of the Institute from 2016 to 2017.
He is co-author of “The International Arbitration Act; A Commentary”, 3nd edition, 2018, LexisNexis, an Adjunct Professor in International Commercial Arbitration at University of Queensland and an examiner in International Award Writing at Queen Mary University of London.
